Earlier in the year I was asked to provide a virtual training session for the Communications team at Exxon Mobil. I have worked with the Communications team in the Fife Ethylene Plant on several occasions over the past few years, so it was great to catch up with them again and meet some of the wider team who joined the video call from Southhampton.
On this occasion, I provided information and advice on how to get content for your company on the go which is something the team wanted to focus on. Due to the increased capabilities of the latest smartphone technology, and the busy nature of social media, more and more companies are looking to take control of their content and capture it instantly.
Within my presentation, we discussed the advances in smartphone technology, made comparisons to shooting on a DSLR, and I provided demonstrations on how to make your iPhone content look professional by showing various editing techniques. We also spoke about what type of content performs well on social media, generated some ideas for their next posts and explained how we analyse the effectiveness of the content.
The feedback from the session was really positive:
"It was very helpful and gives us some good ideas to work with."
"Thanks for your session yesterday, was good to see what’s possible without a DSLR."
